Alison Harris - Chartered Accountant and founder, Harris Tyser Accountancy
I’m a chartered accountant based in North Bristol. I offer a wide range of accountancy services to individuals and businesses throughout the South West. Working closely with clients to get to know you and your business I provide tailor made expert advice and support.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. As an auditor with Hazelwoods and Grant Thornton, in the UK and Australia, I worked with a wide range of clients from small businesses to large private and listed companies. Following a move to commerce in 2011 I worked as finance manager for Kelly and Co Lawyers, then as an in-house accountant with Mott MacDonald Australia. In these roles I covered all areas of finance, including management and financial accounting, budgeting, cashflow management and payroll.
I have strong experience in driving system and process improvements, both in working to enhance the efficiency of existence systems and in project-managing transfers to new accounting and payroll software.
I have also acted as an external adviser to a not-for-profit organisation in Adelaide, providing monthly accounts review and consulting on the implementation of cloud-based software. I have held voluntary positions as Treasurer with Kensington and Norwood Brass (Adelaide) and Friends of the Music at St Mary Redcliffe (Bristol).
Having started my professional life as a freelance French Horn player, I enjoy spending my spare time playing French Horn with a number of amateur groups in the Bristol area.
